ACTING CLASSES IN WARSAW

In 2022/23 season we'll launch two groups! Both are dedicated for adults and the only difference will be in meeting time. Feel totally invited to dicsover theatre for yourself with us! Most of the time we're having fun here during our workshop and learn from that joy.

To participate in the workshop, a basic level of English is enough. Language is just a way of communicating and use of text during workshops is not a crucial thing.

The one-semester acting workshops of the Academy of Arts and Culture consist of 15 classes. Meetings are held once a week. The work during workshops is intense, dynamic, and focused primarily on developing the ability to feel natural on stage. We do not focus only on making dramatic scenes. The aim of the workshop is not to put on a show. Instead, we try to discover self-confidence on stage and trust in acting partners. Therefore, we work on teamwork skills, as well as the ability to constantly listen and respond to the actions of stage partners. One of our main goals is a holistic operation; integration in the action of the body and emotions.

We use various improvisation techniques at work: from the classic impro to the original techniques of both dramatic improvisation and emotional-movement-vocal improvisation. We also use a lot of theatre games that trigger a lot of positive energy, open and perfectly integrate the group.

The workshops end with handing of the Certificate of the Academy of Arts and Culture.

📅 Meeting dates:

FRIDAYS starting from 23th of September. 1st group: 17:10-19:10 2nd group: 19:30-21:30

One semester consists of 15 meetings.

🧭 Instructor:

Piotr Filonowicz – founder and leader of theater workshops at the Academy of Arts and Culture.

A graduate of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw. He led the group Night Line (2008-12) dealing with free improvisation and Vocal Line group focusing on work with voice based on traditional songs. Since 2012 he has been involved in the Fabryka Destruction project (www.facebook.com/FabrykaDestrukcja). Every year, he organizes ethnomusicological expeditions, during which he collects material for vocal work (2007-8 Bulgaria, Poland, 2009 Romania, 2010 Macedonia, 2011 Albania, 2012 India, 2013 Georgia, 2014 Bulgaria, Israel, Serbia). He conducts vocal workshops „Vocal Spinning-Mill". Specializes in work on arousing the natural strength of voice and integrating emotions, movement and voice.
